Guarantee conditions

This leaflet contains the warranty conditions, use and maintenance rules for Astreea® IGLOO. As this leaflet is an integral part of the product, we recommend that you keep it in a place where it is easily accessible throughout its use.

  • 3 years full warranty for polycarbonate models (Igloo PLUS, Igloo CUBE)
  • 3 years for the frame structure and 1 year for the PVC foil for models with PVC cover

In the case of igloos that are subjected to extremely high levels of use other than normal (e.g. public buildings, catering outlets, terraces), the guarantee is conditional on maintenance (re-tightening of screws, fine-tuning and adjustment of panels, greasing of bearings and rollers) once every 6 (six) months, failure to do so will result in the loss of the guarantee. In such cases, our colleagues will only be able to carry out the necessary repairs and interventions if a quotation has been agreed in advance. Our colleagues can provide up-to-date information on the current maintenance charges.

Enforcement of warranty conditions:

  • On receipt of the product, check that the equipment has not been damaged in transit and that the accessories are intact and complete.
  • Any claims must be made in writing within 3 days of receipt.
  • The buyer can only exercise his rights under the guarantee if he has complied with the conditions for the guarantee set out in the contract of delivery.
  • The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective part, which must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Dealers or users may not claim any compensation from the manufacturer and distributors for any damage suffered or costs incurred as a result of use (labour, transport, faulty workmanship, direct or indirect accidents, etc.).
  • We guarantee that the raw materials used in Astreea® Igloo products are used and manufactured in accordance with their intended use. Full replacement is only possible if the fault cannot be remedied by replacement or spare parts.

The guarantee does not cover:

  • damage caused during improper assembly or transport,
  • breakdowns or damage resulting from improper use after purchase,
  • failures due to extreme weather conditions (e.g. windstorms of 120 km/h or more, downpours) – these can only be repaired by our colleagues for an extra fee, subject to a pre-approved quotation,
  • damage or rupture resulting from abrasion, burns, or splashing of corrosive liquid, or from tears resulting from neglect, physical damage, or from damage due to improper maintenance, incorrect fixing, incorrect assembly, or from neglect,
  • In the case of PVC film, possible degradation due to increased UV radiation or damage due to natural wear and tear of the material (fading or loss of transparency of the film may occur as the product ages, which is a natural process – in case of dispute, products must be returned to us for testing and will be repaired or replaced),
  • personal injury and property damage resulting from the use of the product,
  • against any failure or damage resulting from the modification of the product.

Warning: any modification or alteration may impair the original design and proper use of the product and thereby jeopardise its functionality. This will void the warranty.

How durable is the igloo?

The igloos are manufactured with the utmost care, in accordance with strict safety standards and using state-of-the-art technology to ensure long life and safe use. However, if the product is not used as described here, the risk of injury cannot be completely excluded.

Wind resistance:

Under the right conditions*, Astreea® Igloo can withstand strong winds (Beaufort scale 6 to 31 mi/h).

* Clamped on hard surfaces, weighted on soft surfaces with a sandbag, while all vents and door zips are closed. In the event of a storm or hurricane warning, it is recommended that the transparent cover be removed (Beaufort scale for wind gusts of 7 and higher).

It is recommended that you check that the bolts and nuts are tightened properly every month or after every storm or major emergency.

Snow resistance:

The Astreea® Igloo has a maximum snow load capacity of 200 kg / 450 lbs. Snow should be swept off regularly to prevent damage.

Use of heaters in the Astreea® Igloo:

Use only outdoor type electric heaters. Never use the following types of heat sources.

Heat and UV resistance:

Astreea® Igloo’s construction is stable over a range of 21°C / -6°F (outside temperature) to +66°C / +150°F (inside temperature) and is resistant to solar radiation up to UV index 5. However, on sunny spring-summer days when the outside temperature is above +10°C/+50°F, the inside air temperature can rise to excessive temperatures (above +66°C/+150°F).

These conditions can damage the structure of the Astreea® Igloo, the furniture inside and the pets and plants.

The spherical shape means that sunlight almost always strikes a part of the igloo at right angles, giving maximum radiant energy to the dome shape. If the outside temperature is above +10°C / +50°F, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to monitor the internal temperature of the Astreea® Igloo, keep the air vents open during the day, and remove the transparent cover completely if the internal temperature exceeds +66°C / +150°F.

It is recommended to protect the transparent cover from high UV radiation to prolong its lifetime. If this recommendation is not followed, the Astreea® Igloo structure, its furniture and your pets and plants may suffer thermal damage. In such cases, Astreea® cannot be held responsible and does not guarantee such damage due to possible misuse.

About the manufacturer:
