Manufacturer’s Warranty Terms

This information sheet sets out the warranty terms and the rules of use and maintenance of the Astreea® IGLOO. As this information sheet forms an integral part of the product, we recommend that you keep it in an accessible place so that it is readily available throughout the entire period of use.

Warranty terms

For models with a polycarbonate cover (Igloo PLUS, Igloo CUBE), a 3-year full warranty
For models with a PVC cover, 3 years on the frame structure and 1 year on the PVC film

For igloos which, departing from the average level of use, are exposed to extremely heavy use (for example public institutions, outdoor seating areas and terraces of hospitality venues), the warranty is conditional on maintenance once every 6 (six) months (re-tightening of screws, fine-tuning and adjustment of panels, greasing of bearings and rollers), failure to carry out which results in loss of the warranty. In such cases, our colleagues can only carry out the necessary repair or intervention on the basis of a previously accepted quotation. Our colleagues can provide up-to-date information on the current cost of maintenance.

Enforcing the warranty

When taking delivery of the product, check that the equipment has not been damaged in transit and that the accessories are intact and complete.
Any complaints must be submitted in writing within 3 days of receipt.
The buyer may only enforce their rights under the warranty if they have complied with the relevant conditions set out in the supply contract.
The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective part, which must be fitted in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Dealers or users may not claim any compensation whatsoever from the manufacturer or the distributor for any damage suffered or for costs arising from use (labour costs, transport, faulty workmanship, direct or indirect accidents, etc.).
We guarantee that the raw materials of Astreea® Igloo products are used and the products are manufactured with due regard to their intended use. Complete replacement is only possible if the fault cannot be remedied with replacement and spare parts.

Exceptions

The warranty does not cover:

damage arising from improper assembly or during transport,
faults or damage resulting from improper use after purchase,
faults resulting from extreme weather conditions (e.g. storms with winds of 120 km/h or above, cloudbursts) – these can only be remedied by our colleagues for a separate fee, on the basis of a previously accepted quotation,
damage or tears caused by abrasions, burns or splashes of corrosive liquids resulting from improper maintenance, incorrect fixing, faulty assembly, neglect or physical damage,
in the case of PVC film, any degradation due to increased UV radiation or damage resulting from the natural wear and tear of the materials (as the product ages, fading or reduced transparency of the film may occur, which is a natural process – in the event of a dispute, the products must be returned to us for inspection, and we will repair or replace them),
personal injury and property damage resulting from the use of the product,
faults resulting from modification of the product or any damage arising therefrom.

Warning: Any modification or alteration may impair the original design and intended use of the product and thereby jeopardise its functionality. This results in loss of the warranty.

How durable is the igloo?

Igloos are manufactured with the utmost care, in accordance with strict safety regulations and using state-of-the-art technology, to ensure a long service life and safe use. However, if the product is not used as described here, the risk of damage cannot be completely ruled out.

Wind resistance

Under appropriate conditions* the Astreea® Igloo withstands strong winds (Beaufort scale 6 – up to 31 mi / h).

* Fixed with clamps on hard surfaces and weighted with sandbags on soft surfaces, with all vents and the door zip closed. In the event of a storm or hurricane warning, it is recommended to remove the transparent cover (in the case of gusts of Beaufort scale 7 and above).

We recommend that you check monthly, and after every storm or significant emergency, that the screws and nuts are properly tightened.

Snow resistance

The maximum snow load of the Astreea® Igloo is 200 kg / 450 lbs. Snow must be swept off regularly to prevent damage.

Using heaters in the Astreea® Igloo

Use only outdoor-type electric heaters. Never use the following types as a heat source: Gas, Propane, Coal / Charcoal, or open flame.

Heat and UV resistance

The structure of the Astreea® Igloo is stable in the range of 21 ° C / -6 ° F (outside temperature) to + 66 ° C / + 150 ° F (inside temperature), and withstands solar radiation up to UV index 5. However, on sunny spring and summer days, when the outside temperature is above + 10 ° C / + 50 ° F, the inside air temperature may rise to an excessively high level (above + 66 ° C / + 150 ° F).

These conditions may damage the structure of the Astreea® Igloo and the furniture inside it, as well as pets and plants.

Owing to the spherical shape, sunlight almost always strikes some part of the igloo at a right angle, delivering maximum radiant energy into the dome. If the outside temperature is above + 10 ° C / + 50 ° F, it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you monitor the inside temperature of the Astreea® Igloo, keep the air vents open during the day, and remove the transparent cover completely if the temperature inside exceeds + 66 ° C / + 150 ° F.

It is recommended that the transparent cover be protected against high UV radiation in order to extend its service life. If you do not follow this recommendation, the structure of the Astreea® Igloo, the furniture inside it, and your pets and plants may suffer heat damage. In such cases, Astreea® accepts no liability and provides no warranty for such damage due to possible misuse.

WARNING

The equipment is designed exclusively for outdoor use. Use it with care so as not to affect the structure or cover of the igloo. Any use other than that described in this guide may damage the igloo and pose a serious danger to the user. Proper operation requires correct use and appropriate maintenance of the equipment.

It is therefore advisable to read the instructions for use carefully in order to prevent problems incompatible with proper operation and durability. They contain all the information needed to make the best use of the igloo, and we provide instructions and useful advice on correct maintenance. The manufacturer is released from all liability in the event of careless use of the device and failure to comply with these rules.
